Project based Learning
Before watching this video I had no idea of what Project Based Learning was, I learned it is a way of education that provides students an approach to real world, I read in an article called "what is PBL" that this kind of teaching provides students with a lot of skills such as Collaboration, Communication and Critical Thinking, I think the development of this skills can make a difference in their future performance as students and profesionals, I also think project based learning, makes a lesson meaningful for the student, because he or she is free to explore how to express what have they learned in a way that better fits their interests, Other thing I think is important is students can explore what their strenghts are, and the fact that they have a audience moves them to a different possition in learning.
In Middle School, a teacher who was teaching a Slavery Unit, had the students playing a role game, the roles were raffled and students had a sign hanging on their neck of what role of slavery were they representing, they had to live the life of that specific role for one week, they work, were in debt, pay had obligations and wrights, I think it gaves them a great idea of what being a slave was.
